The CARLISLE BRASS® cb290 Firestop Intumescent Door Seal is designed to close the gap between the fire door and frame in the event of a fire, thereby preventing the spread of smoke and hot gases. These seals remain inactive for many years and only activate when exposed to the high temperatures and pressures of a fire. The high-performance intumescent core containing intercalated graphite expands multi-directionally up to 10-15 times its original size, sealing the gap and securing the fire door in place. Additionally, the combined intumescent fire and smoke seal offers cold smoke protection, sealing off the gap around the door and providing a permanent barrier to smoke, while also providing thermal and acoustic benefits.
