The CARLISLE BRASS® cb220 fire door seal is designed to close the gap between the fire door and frame in the event of a fire, thereby preventing the spread of smoke and hot gasses. The seal remains dormant for many years and activates only when exposed to high temperatures and pressures, expanding up to 10-15 times its original size. The high-performance intumescent core contains intercalated graphite that expands multi-directionally sealing the gap and holding the fire door in place.
