The CARLISLE BRASS® cb230 – fire door intumescent seal strips are designed to close the gap between a fire door and its frame in the event of a fire, thereby preventing the spread of smoke and hot gases. These seals remain inactive for years but automatically activate when exposed to rising temperatures and pressures during a fire. The intumescent core contains intercalated graphite, which expands multi-directionally up to 10-15 times its original size during a fire, sealing the gap and securing the fire door in place. Each seal is 1.05 meters long, 15 millimeters wide, and 4 millimeters thick, finished in brown for a discreet appearance.
